If you’ve been following my personal account on Instagram you will have noticed that I am a HUGE fan of LUMA – an Australian beauty brand started by model, Jess Hart.

The brand offers a range of must-have, multi-purpose products based on the illuminationg properties of crushed pearl.

LUMA’s vision is based on the concept of celebrating your uniqueness, by embracing your flaws and enhancing your natural beauty. This notion is what originally drew me to the brand!

I recently attended a LUMA makeover event hosted by Twincare International and Pink Dust Events, in honour of Women’s Month. It was such a phenomenal event, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and so I wanted to share it with all of you.

As I arrived at the venue I entered into an all-pink-paradise, giving me all the girly feels! From stunning rose gold center pieces and a flower clad photobooth, to pink bubbly and tiny blush marshmallows. It was nothing short of a true sight for sore eyes!

The morning started off with welcome drinks and delicious snacks while guests relaxed, mingled and took “before” photos in the photobooth. We then moved over into the auditorium to begin the beauty workshop, where we were given a run down on LUMA and all the amazing products that they offer.

The auditorium was set out with an array of tables, each stocked with the LUMA product range, makeup application tools, and a stunning gift for each guest (a LUMA makeup bag with an On-The-Glow Highlighter hidden inside)

Liza, Head of LUMA Education for SA, lead the workshop. She started off with a valuable lesson on the different skin types, and how best to look after each variation. She explained that the LUMA skincare products are in fact compatible with all skin types (how cool is that!?). Liza then moved on to explain each of the LUMA products in-depth, their ingredients and how they should be used.

While sipping on our bubbly, we were able to test out each and every product as Liza went through each one with us.

The Luma range is a three step routine, bluring the lines between skincare and cosmetics, to Prepare, Perfect,  and Enhance your natural beauty through an essential range of illuminating products.

 Step 1 – Prepare

• Cleanse using the Fresh Start Cleaning Gel
• Exfoliate using the Crushed Pearl Facial Polish
• Moisturise using the Brighten Up Beauty Serum and the Base Perfecting Mosituriser
• Nourish lips or dry areas with the Multi-Purpose Balm

Step 2 – Perfect 

• Prime skin using the Liquid Light Illuminating Primer or the Natural Radiance Bronzing Primer
• Create an even complexion using the Tinted Beauty Balm (available in 3 shades)

Step 3 – Enhance

• Contour and highlight using the On The Glow Highlighter sticks (available in 5 shades)
• Highlight yes using the Illuminating Highlighters (available in 3 shaded)
• Add some colour to cheeks and lips using the Just a Touch Lip and Cheek Tint (available in 3 shades)
• Fill in brows using the Beyond The Brow Grooming Gel

Once our training was complete, we took a quick break to refill our drinks and grab another snack, before moving on to the makeover section of the day. Each guest was given the oppotunity to experiment with the products and put into action what they had learnt during the workshop. Once the makeovers were wraped up, guests then headed over to the photobooth to take an “after” photo – and the results were spectacular!

It was absolutely amazing to see the incredible transformation of each and every woman that attended the event! Because all the products are so versatile, each lady was able to perfectly achieve their desired look.

The spoils did not end there! Each guest was gifted a goodie bag on departure, stocked with a hair treatment by morocco oil, a bar of chocolate and a luxury magazine!

It’s so important for woman (and men) to take time off and enjoy some “me” time, and LUMA, Twincare International, and Pink Dust Events helped each guest do just that!
