Carbs are not the enemy!
One of the most common misconceptions about weight loss is that cutting carbs offers the best chance for success. While watching your carbohydrate intake and choosing the right ones can support healthy weight loss, carbohydrates should NOT prevent you from losing weight.
If the diet you choose is not sustainable then you are not setting yourself up for long-lasting success.
Carbohydrates are the body’s leading source of energy. A single gram of carbohydrate provides 4 kcal of energy. When carbohydrate sources reach depletion the body will then turn to its fats stores to produce the energy it needs. Carbohydrates also play a role in the protection of muscle.
